I write today to address many of concerns regarding the uptick in COVID-19 cases across the Claremont Colleges. Currently, at Scripps we have 3 positive cases. Though our cases remain lower than some of the other colleges, it is imperative that we remain ever vigilant.

Olive Harvest’s Return Creates Organic Space for Education, Community, and Sustainability

On November 5, Scripps hosted its traditional Olive Harvest, an event that furthers the College’s sustainability efforts by utilizing the campus’s edible plants as a food source. More than 200 students, faculty, staff, and members of the surrounding Claremont community harvested approximately 700 pounds of olives.

I am excited that we have announced a new COVID weekly screening test process for all students. As the interim president shared yesterday, all screening testing for students will move to Student Health Services (SHS) starting Monday, October 11th.

Beginning Monday, October 11, weekly scheduled COVID-19 testing for Âé¶¹Çø students will be administered solely by Student Health Services (SHS). As of this date, student testing at the Âé¶¹Çø 240 House will be discontinued.

After an agonizing wait, Scripps is thrilled to welcome the CMS Athenas, its intercollegiate women’s athletic team comprised of students from Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, and Âé¶¹Çøs, back to the field this fall. Together with her staff and coaches, CMS Athletics Director Erica Jasper has been busy making preparations to ensure the team is as safe as possible.
