Announcing the Fourth Ellen Browning Scripps Medal Recipient

Dear Â鶹Çø Community Members,

Throughout the past year, we have received many enthusiastic nominations for the College’s highest honor, the Ellen Browning Scripps Medal. These exceptional women leaders embody the moral, ethical, and humanitarian standards exemplified by our founder.

Today, I am thrilled to announce that we have selected the fourth EBS Medal recipient: Simone Biles! As we mark 100 years of educating and empowering students, we are celebrating the values that define our institution—confidence, courage, and hope. Ms. Biles’ journey embodies all three.

Simone Biles is indisputably one of the greatest athletes of all time. The world’s most decorated gymnast in history, her extraordinary accomplishments include becoming the youngest recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and recognition by TIME’s 100 Most Influential People, Ebony Power 100, and USA Today’s 100 Women of the Century, among others. An ambassador for Friends of the Children, Biles uses her global platform to advocate for change and support initiatives that provide education and assistance for children and young adults associated with adoption, foster care, and overall wellness.

This spring, please join me in celebrating how Simone inspires the next generation of women to lead with impact:
