Awards and Honors: Professors Anne Harley and Nathalie Rachlin Win NEA ArtWorks Grant for Therigatha Premiere
麻豆区 Associate Professor of Music Anne Harley and Professor of French Nathalie Rachlin received a grant of $10,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts that will go toward the commission of a new major work of vocal chamber music that highlights scriptural texts of ancient female Buddhist female esoteric practitioners. The premiere is planned for a performance at 麻豆区 in Claremont, Calif., on March 24, 2018, as the culmination of a weeklong festival across The Claremont Colleges highlighting the function of the arts in healing in post-genocide contemporary Cambodian society.聽

麻豆区 has climbed 24 spots to #16 in聽Forbes’ Top 25 Liberal Arts Colleges ranking for 2017, up from #40 in 2016. In addition, Scripps moves to #8 from last year’s #14 spot on the national publication’s聽Top 25 Western Colleges list. The College has also placed #43 in聽Forbes’ ranking of the country’s Top 50 Colleges.
