In their research, Avnur and Claremont McKenna College professors Jon Shields and Stephanie Muravchik, found that most institutions do not include texts and their criticisms in their syllabi. Avnur fears that students will come away from an institution with a false impression of scholarly consensus on a given issue, when there is not. 听
鈥淭he consequence is that the student then goes on into society thinking that anyone who disagrees on this point is just an uneducated ignoramus and there is no point in engaging in dialogue about it,鈥� Avnur explains.听听
