The Gabrielle Jungels-Winkler ’72 Rose Garden next to Balch AuditoriumEarlier this month, the LA County Museum of Art opened its exhibit . Drawing primarily from LACMA’s permanent collection, the works exhibited span centuries and cultures—dating from the eighth century onward and originating in Asia, Europe, and North America—demonstrating not only the diversity and longevity of printing as a medium, but also how contemporary artists continue to reclaim and utilize its expressive force.Ìý
Featuring works from a number of artists, including Alison Saar ’78, Deep Cuts invites visitors to consider the medium as creative expression and a vehicle for mass production, enabling images and ideas to be circulated widely.ÌýÌýÌý
The selection includes over 200 pieces, featuring printed books, scrolls, images, textiles, wallpapers, costumes, and monumental contemporary prints.ÌýÌý
