
This November, contemporary art gallery Luis De Jesus Los Angeles is set to host Afterlife, an exhibit featuring Professor of Art Ken Gonzales-Day’s new photographic work. The exhibition, Gonzales-Day’s sixth solo endeavor, explores themes of race and historical memory.
The collection will showcase the social longevity of objects, featuring photographs of historical artifacts from around the world. Afterlife, is set to open on November 8 and will run through December 20, 2025. The museum will host an opening reception on November 8 from 4–7 p.m.
The show will overlap with another, Ken Gonzales-Day: History’s Never Made, currently on view until March 2026 at the USC Fisher Museum of Art, accompanied by a of the same name addressing the artist’s life and work. Earlier in 2025, ARTnews and Art in America included Gonzales-Day’s work in their list of the 100 best artworks of the 20th century.
