The Clark Lewis Museum of Art in Claremont听will celebrate the life and work of Dr. Samella Lewis, Scripps鈥� first tenured Black professor and pioneer artist.听听
The exhibition,听,听explores Lewis鈥檚 belief in the 鈥渋nterrelationships鈥� among cultures and artistic traditions. Her early drawings and prints, along听with works by artists, students, colleagues, friends, and prot茅g茅s, including Alison Saar 鈥�78, Howard Smith, Harmon Outlaw, Claude Lewis, and听others听will be on display.听
