- Scripps’ 2026 Day of Giving raised $192,559 from 550+ donors, showcasing strong community participation across alums, families, students, faculty, staff, and friends.
- Participation spanned the entire Scripps community, led by alums (44%), followed by parents and families (27%), faculty and staff (10%), friends (11%), and an encouraging 12 percent student participation rate signaling a growing culture of philanthropy on campus.
- Campus partners received strong support, led by the Williamson Gallery ($9K), with Denison ($5K), senior class gift ($6K), Student Investment Fund ($4K), internship grants and sustainability ($3K each), Art and Dance ($2K each), and CLORGs ($1.2K).
In a powerful show of community spirit, 鶹’s 2026 Day of Giving brought together alums, students, families, faculty, staff, and friends for a 24-hour celebration of what makes Scripps truly special. Celebrating the College’s enduring commitment to empowering exceptional students, this year’s Day of Giving exceeded expectations, raising an impressive $192,559 from more than 550 donors.
The Scripps Fund
At the heart of the campaign was The Scripps Fund, the College’s primary operationalfundand a vital source of support for the student experience. Gifts to The Scripps Fund directly sustain scholarships, internships, academic programs, campus preservation, and mental health and wellness resources—ensuring thatScrippsstudents continue to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
This year’s Day of Giving also featured 20 special matching gift challenges sponsored by dedicated alums, staff, and friends of the College. These challenges energized donors and amplified impact across campus, with all matches successfully met. Contributions supported a wide range of programs and initiatives, including student clubs and organizations (CLORGs), the arts, dance, the Ella Strong Denison Library, the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery, and more.
Campus Partners
Campus partners sawstrong supportacross the board. The Departments of Art and Dance each raised more than $2,000, while Denison garnered over $5,000 in support. Internship grants received more than $3,000, and the Student Investment Fund surpassed $4,000. Sustainability efforts also drew over $3,000 in gifts, while the Williamson Gallery led all designated areas withnearly $9,000raised.Additionalhighlights included more than $6,000 contributed to the senior class gift and $1,200 raised for CLORGs.
Participation across the Scripps community was equally inspiring. Alum donors made up 44 percent of all contributors, while parents and families accounted for 27 percent. Faculty and staffrepresented10 percent, and friends of the College made up 11 percent. Notably, student participation reached an exciting 12 percent, underscoring the strong culture of philanthropy already taking root on campus.
The Dorm Challenge
A new addition this year—the Dorm Challenge—brought a spirited sense of competition to Day of Giving. Donors had theoptiontodesignatetheir gift in honor of a residence hall, with participationdeterminingthe winner. Grace Scripps Clark Hall claimed the top spot, earning a commemorative yellow ribbon and well-earned bragging rights for the year ahead.
“This year’s Day of Giving was a beautiful reflection of the Scripps community in action,” says Megan Hast, director of leadership annual giving and The Scripps Fund. “From our incredible matching gift sponsors to the students, alums, families, and friends who showed up in such meaningful ways, the collective generosity we saw ensures that Scripps can continue to provide transformative opportunities for our students.”
As the College looks ahead, the success of Day of Giving serves as a reminder ofwhat’spossible when the Scripps community comes together with a shared purpose: to invest in students and sustain a legacy of excellence for generations to come.
