Professor Michael Spezio Edits New Issue of Philosophy, Theology and the Sciences

Associate Professor Michael Spezio

Associate Professor of Psychology, Neuroscience, and Data Science Michael Spezio edited a new special issue of聽Philosophy, Theology and the Sciences, a biannual journal focused on the truth claims found in all three disciplines and their interactions.

The issue, titled Theologies of Flourishing/Thriving, features four articles, one of which was written by Spezio, as well as an editorial introduction by Spezio. His editorial calls for a framework where theological claims can still be accountable to publicly accessible evidence.

In his article “For a World Coming of Age: Reformed Theology鈥檚 PATH to Publicly Accessible Inquiry into Human Flourishing,” he examines the need to make theological ideas understandable and accountable to people outside a particular religious community and the necessity to engage with scientific research if theologians are going to make claims about how people can be fulfilled, happy, and healthy.
